Most countries in the West and some of them in the East that claim western culture and civilisation are setting ongoing smoke-free plans for their population to rid themselves in terms of the demographic of smoking as a problem causing the death of its user. This threshold chronology has most commonly been set as the year 2030 but in Oceania, in Australia and in New Zealand it is earlier in 2025. The governments of those nations are gathering forces applying every strategy at their fingertips to curb smoking even further by narrowing the narrow already social group of smokers and diminishing their social interaction and sharing in common of common characteristics.
But what is the implication of a smoke-free country or territory? The implication of a smoke-free nation is its previous stage. A smoke-free territory is perceived as one where nobody smokes with a 0% smoking rate accomplished either by force or by the will of its people. The previous stage to that is when only one person smokes, as the last one to smoke before a smoke-free country, and all lights are turned against him or her by burdening them with the weight of the law and all its unfair counter-smoking restrictions. One person against all the rest, to lift the weight of the law that is deliberately turned against him is the ugly face of modern counter-smoking fascism. This person should be this and should be that and he should do this and she should do that until they are diminished and have everyone else talking about them instead of minding their own being the state or government.
The elimination of smoking rates bears the consequence of limiting a social group and therefore group and social interaction by knocking down what is shared in common between its members. It appears that not only the government of virtually any country would want to diminish personal motivation and interest within a social and group context, but they also plan and intend to drive the tobacco industry out of business by converting their product’s use as the smoking rate down to lucky zero (0%) !
Democracy will show them why they will not and why they cannot succeed. Under those conditions the smoking rate will depend on the level of democracy and its application present in society. This is what drives a person to make their own decisions and speak for themselves when taking them and when acting. This is already becoming the crucial factor in New Zealand where only 9% smoke, and that’s less than one in ten, but that is still not satisfactory for the greedy Labor-run government that wants to make that 5% or one in twenty without anybody’s participant’s agreement. The Oceanic absolutist counter-smoking subsidised regime by the W.H.O. has to collapse. Because cigarettes costing thirty or thirty-five dollars is absolute, and smoking only outdoors is also absolute, and having uniform packaging is absolute as well.
