If smoking harms your health then what else does it do to your mental health?

Mental health patients tend to smoke more often to communicate with the outside world. And to normalise their experiences and perception of the world in line with the rest. Depriving mental health patients of their ability to smoke does not do them any good. They should be free to smoke like all the rest. They do so to communicate better with the outside world despite their mental illness.

Attempts at restricting mental health patients from smoking in their psychiatric units actually harms their mental health and the balance of their thoughts while benefiting their physical health. Because smoking is good for mental health unlike what it does to your physical health by polluting your internal organs.

Therefore being in a position to smoke is ideal for mental health patients who want to have smoke-therapy.

The distinction between physical and mental health must be made clear for general purposes so as to define the benefit or harm made to each of these kinds of health by smoking. Smoking is not bad for your mental health in the same way as it is bad for your physical health. It is more or less good or better for your mental health than it is for your physical health for which it turns out to be very destructive.
