A comment on Martin Cullip’s critique on individual stick health warnings required in Canada

A comment on Martin Cullip’s critique on individual stick health warnings required in Canada:

This law is fascist and it has been dictated to the rest from the state that must not control it instead of society and is not functional in society.

Individual cigarettes cannot be sold on their own by those who make them so why should they have to print health warnings on each of them if they already print health warnings on the outside of a packet?

Dictating the content of the law is unacceptable and unconstitutional by definition, but why should manufacturers print health warnings on each separate stick if they cannot sell cigarettes individually? They do not sell cigarettes on their own, they only sell them inside packets which is a legal requirement, so another legal requirement should be printing health warnings on the packets and not on each stick. It only makes sense. It is not their obligation and should not become their obligation when dictating so.

Why can the government arbitrarily choose what to write on the law and no one else choose what they can do themselves? Is that their notion of the freedom that is available in the world?

Dictating the content of the law is an action that is performed by dictators, according to the wisdom of our language. All anti-smoking laws have been dictated to those who have to follow them who have no reason to other than getting punished for not doing so. The exchange of the punishment of the law does not define what is right and what is wrong instead of the same knowledge.

Laws concerning smoking should be limited to demanding the consistency of what is smoked exclusively in tobacco so that drugs are not being used and demanding the mature and legal responsibility of the smoker who must be an adult in order to smoke. All other conditions like the smoking ban and generic packaging are irrelevant, only the age limit and tobacco consistency are objects that concern the law in relation to smoking. Because when the law concerning smoking also becomes a smoking ban, it says that you must smoke outside and implies that you can smoke drugs outside as long as you do it outside. And when the law concerning smoking gets to be generic packaging demands and requirements, counterfeit and contraband cigarettes are the same as the legal ones because legal products do not bear the sign of genuine authenticity and origin of the licensed producer. Contraband and counterfeit products must be demoted to imitations in comparison to legitimate produce and for this to happen generic packaging is not functional.

The law concerning smoking already has minimum requirements set as conditions of a minimum age requirement and requirement in tobacco consistency, and this must be the only law concerning smoking instead of having smoking bans and other dictated counter-smoking legislation. Instead of this being the case, the New Zealand 2019 Cannabis Referendum lost its proposition and now the Labor Party is moving on to smoking from illegal recreational drugs by applying exactly the opposite.
