With the Tobacco and Vapes Bill going through its second reading through parliament tomorrow on Tuesday the 16th of April, the wider expectation and wish is that it will remain as a draft bill or alternatives be provided to the incremental tobacco purchase ban such as raising the minimum age requirement to buy tobacco to 21, a fantastic solution to the same problem that has been implemented by Donald Trump in the United States in most American states that now sell cigarettes exclusively to those aged 21 or over. With many U.S. states or jurisdictions proposing similar incremental tobacco purchase bans to Rishi Sunak’s Newzealander-inspired idea, this is indeed the perfect solution that Donald Trump has found to the problem arising from the antismoking campaign.
Since the last government petition covering this cause expired on the 10th of April, a new petition has been created to replace the incremental tobacco purchase ban with an increase to the constant of age of 21 years. This not only offers a compromise to ensure that mature citizens with legal responsibility are not deprived of their natural rights, but contributes to preventing social corruption and offensive activity on behalf of individuals who will not be encouraged to do so by their ability and freedom to smoke which they will not be encouraged to abuse.

Don’t annually increase the minimum age to buy tobacco, just raise it to 21.
Don’t trust the idea of increasing the minimum age to buy tobacco as an annually increasing variable, it can be set to a constant of 21 years and avoid most problems sought for their solution. The incremental tobacco purchase ban is unfair and undemocratic and does not confer justice to the citizen.
The incremental tobacco purchase ban inspired to the prime minister by the New Zealand prototype is unfair and undemocratic and does not confer justice to the citizen. Citizens should not be condemned to this form of restriction instead of having measures in place like setting the age limit to 21. Adults should not be treated as children like children and underage teenagers should not be treated like the adults who were born after 2009. Innocent activities should not be punished by the law.
