Smoking can be pleasant or socially so or can be rest from the exhaustion having done manual labour or an antidote to certain similar conditions recommended for respiratory beneficial exercise.
Smoking is associated with certain values that can be looked at like virtues or properties that would exclude degraded corruption. What is seen close to corruption has a pre descendant of liberal approach and loose morality.
Loose morality which is needed is not bad nor better than more or less something. Loose morality is the answer to puritanism and prejudice and preoccupation of opinion. Prejudice occurs specifically when someone is preoccupied about something being wrong and not right. Loose morality is useful for alerting history to the present time and separating it from today and our present actions. Smoking bans contribute to preoccupation and promote unawareness and enhance the same indifference to knowledge.
Many types of people find smoking relevant to an actor or singer because the film will interpret reality better and more closely and convincingly when the actor smokes in his role rather than not. It depends on what sort the character is and what he/she usually does and not on what we hear from the outside with public health zealots and Nazis but what the story of the film requires before it runs out because of them and they kill human inventiveness and creativity with the destruction they incur.
