A message for the Washington-based “Truth Initiative” anti-tobacco organisation

Hello,

I have read your objectives and wanted to tell you that you will feel sorry for them. Smoking and vaping is good and not bad for your mental health, exactly the opposite of what it is for physical health. While smoking negatively affects almost every organ in your body, in terms of mental health it does you good and provides therapy and healing of the desparation of life. Doctors know what smoke-therapy is, and use the term to describe the healing effects of tobacco on mental health as an escape from life.

I don’t think that your organisation should advocate that smoking or vaping is negative for mental health, just because both or only one of them is negative for physical health, and that will not be up to you to decide instead of the medical science that can prove what happens and not drive it upon emotion like you do.

Both smoking and vaping should be left up to the individual to choose what to do and whether to do it and telling people what to do or trying very hard to influence their decisions is not a very honest cause when it must depend only on them.

Because it is not your problem, public opinion is not your problem but it exists objectively and I don’t want to see that being disproved and not happening in the right way, when a problem is not yours you should not have it yourself. Meaning that you should not have problems that do not belong to you like who smokes, who vapes and who will not. Those problems or dilemmas belong to the people who have them and sometimes experimenting with something like smoking brings change and introduces something new to the person who does it who must be left alone away from the influence of your organisation or the central government with whom you ally because you know it has the power that it can abuse for controlling the individual.

I think that if you want to know what the preferences of the public are on average, you should stop acting and listen to them declaring them through the polls, although I think that you cannot have both and find that to be objective.

Overall I strongly disagree with what your organisation acts upon and I perceive that it infringes on personal rights and civil liberties and components of private life that do not belong to your organisation or to the state rather than to the citizen.

I find that your organisation and most organisations I am aware of having identical objectives encourage the central government to infringe on the citizen by abusing the power it was trusted with to use it against those who have entrusted it. We do not elect our government to command us to stop smoking or to smoke in the open air or to pay more through our noses to taxation, we elect our government with the democracy which must prevail over your organisation’s actions and initiatives.

According to democracy, each person must be free to exert their own choices and to perform their own decisions. Your organisation wants to ditch vaping together with smoking like you said into the past when that will be decided by the government instead of the people who elected it. This is what Hitler and Mussolini used to believe and do at a time that precedes the present evolution.

You should know that every human invention had to be invented, and that includes and does not exclude cigarettes and vapourisers. This does not categorise human inventions like cigarettes and vapourisers as a thing of the past like you say, and no human invention will ever become a thing of the past unless it is so wanted by their successors who have endowed to preserve and to protect their history and past and continue it in a reasonable way into the future, because not doing so is an indication of blasphemy and vandalism, which I believe your organisation is also about.
